At The Ohio State University at Mansfield, students admitted to the M.Ed. Program take two, 2-credit laboratory courses, called the Technology Teaching Lab. These lab courses run concurrently with four methods blocks: mathematics, science, language arts, and science. With the assistance of the lab instructor, our students create lessons that utilize the endless possibilities of technology in their field placements.

In the lab courses, students create technology-enhanced lessons and take them directly to the field with the use of portable laptop/projector units and other portable technologies (FlexCams, Digital Microscopes, Computer Calculators, etc.). This important facet (that of experience) of the lab course gives our students practice in developing and revising educationally sound, technology-enhanced lessons for their future classrooms.
